      <image:title>Pets - What to Expect</image:title>
<image:caption>On the first visit, Dr. Bentley will take a full health history of your animal and perform a physical examination. This could involve watching the animal’s gait, performing ranges of motion, a neurological examination, and palpation to find any areas of pain, restriction or muscle tightness. After the adjustment, some home-care exercises or stretches may be prescribed. Dr. Bentley will tell you how your animal might expect to feel after the adjustment, and may recommend a short walk for your pet or controlled turnout for your horse. This will allow their body to adjust to the changes they have experienced with the treatment. Follow-up visits can be booked at any time. Some animals only require a single adjustment, and others respond well to an ongoing maintenance or preventative care schedule. The amount of time between adjustments is also different for every animal and depends on many factors such as if their complaint is acute or chronic, general health, age, previous treatment, etc. Dr. Bentley will come up with an individualized plan of management that will work best for your animal. The initial assessment and first adjustment takes about 40 minutes and subsequent visits are generally much shorter. All animal chiropractic is performed at Shining Waters Chiropractic clinic in Peterborough. In special circumstances, house calls can be arranged with a nominal travel fee.</image:caption>

      <image:title>About - Dr. Rachel Bentley, Chiropractor, BA,BSc, DC, CAC</image:title>
<image:caption>My Chiropractic Journey From a young age, I experienced significant bone and joint pain caused by a rare metabolic bone disease and required numerous surgeries throughout my adolescence. I was amazed by how quickly I was able to recover from these procedures once I began to receive chiropractic adjustments. I also found that I had more energy and no longer suffered from the chronic migraines that had affected me for most of my life. As a chiropractor, I love that I am now able to help others find similar relief through regular chiropractic care. Born and raised in Peterborough, I pursued my post-secondary education at Trent University, earning Honours degrees in Biology and Ancient History. Then in Toronto, graduating with Clinic Honours from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. I have been an animal lover and avid horse owner/rider my entire life. In addition to my human patients, I equally enjoy treating their four-legged friends. I am a certified animal chiropractor having successfully completed the Canadian Animal Certification Program with the College of Animal Chiropractors (COAC). I love swimming, yoga, curling up with a good book, and enjoying the outdoors with my own animals (who also receive regular chiropractic adjustments!). I am so excited to be back in the Kawarthas (the “Land of Shining Waters”) to provide chiropractic care to my community. In an effort to meet the unique needs of every patient, I have completed additional training and certifications in Activator Method®, Webster, and Thompson Technique. I encourage my patients of all ages to be active participants in their own health and look forward to helping you achieve your optimal health and wellness goals.</image:caption>

      <image:title>About</image:title>
<image:caption>Dr. Rebecca Shaw, Chiropractor, BEng, DCI I was drawn to pursuing a career in chiropractic following my scoliosis spinal fusion surgery. Following the surgery, I experienced some back pain flare ups and a few years later I decided to go see my parent’s chiropractor and once I started to receive regular care from her I have yet to experience any of those flare ups. As a chiropractor, I am excited to be able to help my patients feel the same relief from symptoms that I did, as well as to help them live the active and healthy life they are seeking! I was born and raised in Caledon and attended the University of Guelph earning a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering. Following that, I attended Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa and graduated with my Doctor of Chiropractic in February 2025. I look forward to exploring the Peterborough area as I love discovering the outdoors whether it be going for a walk with my dog, hiking, skiing, or camping with friends and family. I also enjoy swimming, reading, baking sourdough, or trying out new recipes! I have experience treating patients of all ages, and am excited to join the Peterborough community and look forward to helping you live your best lives!</image:caption>

      <image:title>About - Shannon Eastabrook, RMT.</image:title>
<image:caption>Shannon has been a massage therapist in the Peterborough area since 2004. She graduated with honours from the three year massage program at Fleming College. Peterborough is her hometown and she has been practicing here many years now. She truly loves her job and seeing how massage can have a positive impact in people lives. Over the years, it has become evident that massage needs to be incorporated into people’s health regiments just as much as exercise and other forms of self care. Through the years, she has continually taken education courses to keep adding to her massage regime. As well as interacting with other health professionals to ensure clients get the top care that they need. She has seen many sports related injuries, pregnancy issues, stress and anxiety related issues, chronic headache/migraines and general sprains and strains. Through massage, she has seen the difference it can make in a clients life. Shannon works with her clients to ensure that they become educated on proper home exercises, so they can maintain their progress in between treatments. She has worked with clients of all ages, from toddlers to 98 year olds! When she’s not working, you can usually find her playing or talking about her three dogs! Finny, Kasey and Tippy! Also, spending time with her family at the trailer during the summer and gardening! Her love of dogs has led her to incorporate canine massage into her practice as of January 2021! Shannon looks forward to meeting and connecting with you and your pets!</image:caption>
